Δυο αδελφάκια παρατηρούν με απορία το φεγγάρι που δεν έχει τη συνηθισμένη του λάμψη, αλλά ένα παράξενο, κοκκινωπό χρώμα. «Μήπως είναι η νύχτα των μαγισσών;» αναρωτιούνται. Η μαμά τους, όμως, τους εξηγεί ότι δεν υπάρχει μαγεία, αλλά πρόκειται για ένα φυσικό φαινόμενο που ονομάζεται έκλειψη. Τους εξηγεί όλα όσα ήθελαν να μάθουν για το φεγγάρι, τον πιστό σύντροφο των ανθρώπων, αλλά και όλων των πλασμάτων της Γης, που φωτίζει τον δρόμο τους τις νύχτες. Άλλωστε, το φεγγάρι είναι ο καλύτερος φίλος της Γης, μια και … γυρίζει γύρω της, εδώ και πολλά δισεκατομμύρια χρόνια!
