Ένα δένδρο έμεινε μοναχό σε μια μεγάλη πολιτεία, όπου οι άνθρωποι κάθε μέρα έτρεχαν στις δουλειές τους αμίλητοι και σκυθρωποί. Το δένδρο ήταν πολύ λυπημένο, του έλειπαν οι φίλοι του κι ένιωθε μοναξιά. Ώσπου μια χειμωνιάτικη μέρα κύλησε και στάθηκε στον κορμό του μια μικρή χιονονιφάδα, η βασίλισσα του χιονιού. Έγινεφίλη του και από κείνη τη στιγμή όλα άλλαξαν σ’αυτή την παγωμένη πολιτεία.
