In the summer of 1959, Pier Paolo Pasolini traveled to the coast of Italy in a Fiat Millecento. The travel diary entitled “The Long Journey of the Sand” was published in three sequels in Successo magazine. Thirty years after the creator’s death, photographer Philippe Seklie reconstructs Pasolini’s journey through black and white photographs. This volume presents for the first time the “Long Journey of the Sand” in its full form, including many unpublished excerpts and is accompanied by the original typed text of the Italian author. Through the manuscripts, letters and photographs of Philippe Seclié we relive Pasolini’s unique journey in Italy.
