Mimis Traiforos – Sofia Vembo, Children of Greece

Looking in my archive for topics that could help me collect memories, I felt an unprecedented awe that shook me. All these newspaper clippings, notes, photos, I have seen and read years ago, so many times, I thought. But what is happening to me today?

As if they were asking me for something, as if they were begging me for something … As I was holding them and leafing through them, my gaze stopped on a photo of Sofia Vembo and Mimi Traiforos. Suddenly, yes, the lights of the ramp lit up and illuminated the palsosenikos of my mind. That’s it. I immediately felt a supreme obligation to relive all these memories, to bring them back to light.

So, when he with his songs and poems, and she with her voice, praised with passion, with inspiration and many symbolisms, constant and timeless values, such as Homeland, love, friendship, Greek nature etc., an entire people was shivering, having fun, worrying and being filled with optimism, warmth and love.
