Linda, Like in Linda’s murder

A young trainee police officer is brutally murdered in a Swedish provincial town. Because everyone else is missing on vacation, the case is assigned to Officer Evert Becstrμm from Stockholm. Egocentric, sexist, biased towards everyone and everything, Backstrom cares only about his wallet, his drink and, secondarily, his goldfish.

The black humor, the sarcastic commentary on the state of Swedish justice, the excellent “anatomy” of the police investigation process make this novel stand out, as it geniusly introduces us to one of the most memorable difficult novel characters.
