The adventures of Eragon and Sapphire continue, with many upheavals and surprises in their attempt to overthrow Galbatorix and bring peace to Alagasia. It was only a few months after Eragon first whispered “brisingr”, the word in the ancient language meaning “fire”. Since then he has not only learned to do magic using words, he has also accepted challenges that have shaken the core of his existence. After a fierce battle against the Empire’s warriors in the Flaming Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Sapphira, managed to escape their lives just at the last minute.
